I'm sorry about your experience in elementary school they had no right to associate AAVE terminology with being slow. Absolutely appalling!

I feel like white people are not aware that using AAVE terms is stealing from black culture which I why I wrote about it. To educate younger generations and others to respect groups who have been marginalized. Feel free to share this article as much as possible.
